To prevent the stock shocks from leaking, you can use some Race Prep heavy duty O-ring
Or try some Team Associated green slime on O-ring. It will swell the O-ring to prevent it from leaking.

Dual shocks, that's twice the leaking! No thanks. Those rubber o-rings though seems as a good idea, together with that green sealant.
On the other hand, looking at your craftnig there, it looks good. Like real buggies. |

I 've recently filled my SRB shocks with oil, and realized the difference. Both my sand scorcher and fighting buggy handle terrain alot better now. Less bouncing and with better flow.
As for any leaking, I've not seen any yet. Also, I'd like to ask any of you SRB drivers if you ever tried a thicker oil in the SRB dampers. I used the supplied Tamiya damper oil, and I think that gives a good enough damping. Here's a short video of my bug before I filled the dampers: Then I've also noticed something interesting regarding the wear of those universal joints on the rear axles. These aren't lubricated? Nowhere in the manual does it say to lubricate these. A fact is that they will start to squeek. Sand, grit and acid will eat the joints and they will become more loose, untill the holes become so large the rivet falls out. Drive alot in sand and this will happen quicker.

Do not lubricate the UJ's. If you do they will attract much more dirt then if they are dry, and wear out much faster. The grease would become an abrasive mass quite quickly, doing the opposite of lubricating.
But, of course, they should be cleaned regularly to have some hope at all to survive Signature now gets correct formatting if you edit it in your Profile. Use normal BBcode if you want.

Maybe in a rubber sock? Like shocks made with a rubber balloon. A little like on the first release of the ORV chassis. That is not pretty but should be efficient?

Hey all,
Yes the SRB U joint problem is as old as time, OK R/C buggy time that is, did come up with a solution back in the dark ages that I still use to this day. Stay tuned I will make a tech post on it after I take a couple of pics in the next day or so. I will link it from here if that is OK. Also I guess I should wait and see how the server change goes???? I have run my dampers upside down and if thy are full ie. no air, they work just the same, but I did find they ended up with more grit in the seal area due to gravity I suspect. Real racers run shock boots for a reason I guess...just my 2 cents.....
