Finally got the base colour on the FAV, Decided not to mask interior Paint was probably a little thicker than I had originally planned but the result is very nice, No runs or heavy build up lesson learnt so I will mix the next 2 colours for the camo thinner and they can be done one after the other, Yes it is currently shiny but the final coat will be a mat clear

I did some research and found out that the shiny "drift rims" my dad put on the old tt01 back then in reality weren't aftermarket... They were original tamiya rims. They seem rare af and i have taken them off. They are in bad bad shape, considering the car was driven by 4-5 y/o me back then! The rims are the Tamiya 49424 blue plated medium-narrow mesh wheels and i couldn't seem to find much of them around. Is there a way to restore rims? (mine is the single one, the other pics are for reference)  

These rims are common. You can find a set of "chromed" ones and spray them with clear blue from tamiya.

Common? oh i couldn't find them anywhere, even ebay...
are you talking about the model or the 49424 specifically?
 

The model. It is the same as the modena or the corvette c5r. I will check my mess if I have some spares.

These rims. I think that you could chrome themes with a molotov pen, and spray transparent bleu on it.

Aah yea yea, the rims arent hard to get, the specific ones w that code are. They have a special value to me, being they looked cool on the car when i was a child. Wonder if i should try and fix them up...
