Hi Dave - welcome. 

I don't think I'm ready to go lipo/brushless yet on any of my vintage RC stuff.  I did get four fresh 3600 mAh NiMH batteries and usb chargers off Amazon for less than $15/battery. That and some fresh AAs for my controller were all it took to get my vintage HPI RS4 Sport back up and running.  I'd likely go a similar route for the rest of my vintage stuff.  Although I probably need a couple more ESCs, since I think a couple of my cars still have the old mechanical speed controls with resistors.

Only a modern old dt03 is bl and lipo runable in my 1/10 runners. My cw01 and my old blitzer beetle are brushed and nimh sticks runners. Same if I  run now with nice and tiny mn 78 and 82 now in my garden with my grandson.
