Thanks Jonny. I was thinking about n or z scale.
For your lights, did you try warm white leds? With a low voltage ? I do it for the mountaineer and had a good vintage result. |

I love the figure on the hill walking a dog. It just brings it to life.
Nice work Jonny.

Rooohhhh Amazing Jonny. You're building a dream for me. I haven't enough place to build one and my dad puted my ho circuit to the trash because of rat urin in the cave. I had a big plate. Only kept the trains.

Been a while since I updated this, but I've being doing the odd bit now & then ... early winter 2022 was the boards for the coalyard/water tower + the goods shed, 2023 were the crossing keeper's cottage & garage boards IIRC, this time I've done the basics on the last three boards - the two houses & the blacksmiths - note the different colour tarmac
Lighting is still on a board by board basis (not my choice to do the scenery that way, and it's meant a lot of compromises) with 3v LEDs & holders for two AA or AAA batteries depending on what I had at the time - I did try to get a photo (in the dark) with everything lit up, but the batteries in the signal box had expired, failed & leaked I really wanted to have some sort of brazier in the smithy but none of the buildings are big enough to hold even AAA batteries, so I need to look at what button cell/holder/flickering orange LED combo will work Still more details to do all over (mostly people & shrubbery), but that's a job for another year Attachments:

You should look into power the leds by an USB plug. There will go about 100 leds of 0402 leds on one 1A USB.
Marklinofsweden has tons of tips on doing details.
