8888-1-c2 Truck

There are instructions for building this chassis in the 8888 Ideas Book, again using the “giant” tyres.

Steering but no suspension at the front, a 2-cylinder engine permanently fixed to a diff (in its own housing) on the back end. There is suspension on the back end, but it uses elastic bands under tension. There are two options for a body shown – either a yellow “jeep” type shown in photos – or a “long” nose truck with actual instructions. I’ll be doing the latter as I did build a version of it way back, with some slight variations due to not having exactly the bits specified. My version also had a longer nose, 6-cylinder engine and more complete body work because I felt like it and had a spares box capable of doing so.

I’ll be building it to the book this time, if  do anything else it’s more likely to be a 5th wheel hookup and trailer as my attempt at the time relied on parts from “Gear” sets of 10 years earlier.
