I remember the style of the roads quite vividly; the long tree-lined straights; the light and shadow from the trees was quite hypnotic! My wife and I are both Francophiles and we drove to Dijon and Lyon a few years ago, although mainly on the Autoroute, but are planning on making the trip again, hopefully next summer and using the secondary roads for part of the journey this time. Last time we stayed in La Part Dieu in the 3rd Arrondissement for a couple of weeks so I'll hopefully be able to book the same house!
