Nice job Richard! That thing really scoots! Looks good doing it too!

Might benefit from some oil shocks by how it was bouncing around though sometimes that is half of the charm (and fun!!)

Thank you!

Yeah, it would deffo perform better with oil daampers. Rear is easy enought, but front has a really short spring that is captured in both ends.
Arms pivots like Wild One front end ish.

I was lucky with my motor guess, just the speed I wanted

Made a new video.
Summer has been cold, wet, windy, even stormy I would say with plenty of thunder.

Finally weather is good.
This time I used a 4000mAh 2s battery and as you can see it gives plenty of poke with the 23t HackMoto motor I installed earlier!

Yeah summer was rubbish this year!

I don't catch a break lately, but at least the picture from the run today turned out good.

Suddenly my gears got loud..

Worse on ground..
www.youtube.com...hy1qSnSWSo

First thing I noticed when coming in was the left side outher bearing had come out..

Oh dear... Not lookinng good!!

Spur gear is gone!!
Diff seems fine

And I think this is the cause. My homemade 5mm pinion adapter made out of too soft material so the outher diameter got bigger over time...

Time to get a 3d printed spur gear in metal and order a new pinion and for sure a real 5mm pinion adapter!

And I even found two tears in my tires... This is the worst one..

Pinion in mod.8/32dP are easy to find in 3.2mm bore for the motor shaft...
I buy kits to built and ru(i)n them :-)

With the files from Marc I got my gears printed at the same place as Marc did in China, best value for the money.

Sadly my 3d gears was short lived.
With a combo of too hot motor (23t) and big tires the spider gears and main diff gear failed.
Hard to say which came first....

A very short video of that run...

My orginal diff is sound, so is the new 3d printed idler gear.
These will go back in and the motor will be swapped for Sport Tuned to see if that helps.
I'm waiting on 7.1mm shims to complete the task.

I'm really disappointed your printed diff died... At least idle gear should work with your original diff. Lunchbox tires are less large so less drag, and I believe their weight is really really less than the Big Bear tires, so both the powerfull motor, the tires weight and your entertained racing style may not have help...
Have recently got feedback that SLS printed gears may be more reliable than MJF printed gears (laser sintering is fusing the material differently), I will have to try this with a powerful motor and eventually with Big Bear tires...

Today's run..

Now with Sport Tuned motor, stock 3 gear diff and 3D metal printed idler gear.
At the end of the run the diff started to skip. I highly belive that is down to both bottom mounting tabs on the gearbox is broken off so the housing flexes as it goes over the rough terrain.
I will now look at my spare parts to see if I have a better housing to use.
Also both roll bar lights came off in roll over today, but nothing broken

Edit: I may order SLS gears next time to test.
First with Sport Tuned and then my 23t motor to see if it holds up over time.

I did find unbroken gear housing in my parts bin

Not long after it was complete again with the new parts.
Converted back to the orginal motor end holder.
Both halves was also Dremel'd a bit so now the motor will now slide in (Sport Tuned is slightly bigger than the stock motor)
Also fitted 2x 0.5mm shims on motor side of the diff to space it out (modern bearings is thinner than stock bushings). Wanted to a third shims as well due diff rubbing on the metal plate, but then the diff was too tight.

No more broken mounting tabs!
By suggestion by Mark (Silvertriple) I will make a skid plate to protect those tabs. My driveway is really too rocky for this vehicle...
