Finalizing the files takes time. I first added all hardware in Fusion360, then made the joints, then organized and then took snapshots...
And all this to make a simple instruction manual... A few hours of work! The 917K should be quicker as there is way less parts... And finally, the accesories for Sabulatech Ferrari 312 can am bodyshell and ST-1 chassis are on Makerworld : makerworld.com/...Id-1532479 I buy kits to built and ru(i)n them

It's a bit too hot right now to do something else, so I finalized the 917K and published it.
Again same process than for the others was applied... The accessories for the Delta Plastik Porsche 917K (available at Mantua Models) are now published on Makerworld as well : makerworld.com/...Id-1533759 I buy kits to built and ru(i)n them

The ST-1/917K was built with a dedicated remote control set, so I can hand the car to anyone so they can try during events. The remote is a crappy super cheap set, and may not be the best for this, and while everyone who got the car in hands complained about the remote, they also noted the chassis has quite good potential, and they mentioned it as comparable to a Fantom in terms of handling...
youtube.com/sho...x_4FDSFGKo The feedbacks were overally super positive, and even more when the people understand that cost for a build is not much at all... I buy kits to built and ru(i)n them

Another Video in Belley, but this time with 2 ST-1 chassis...
youtube.com/sho...XeDP4okVjM The Vaillante was running a Brushless 21.5T motor, while the 917K had a brushed Kyosho Le Mans 490. For the 917K, the driver was used to drive 1/8 GP cars, and it was more or less his first venture with an EP 1/12 car. The Vaillante was drivern by someone who tried the 917K already and complained a lot about the remote. My own remote allowed him to sense how much the chassis was well behaving, and based on his feedback, I may have to add some cuts to the chassis plate to give a bit of flex to the rear pod. That said, with the better remote, he clealy said as well the chassis was a very sharp and good basis (he compared it to the Fantom, which is quite a nice compliment already). Did not have the time to post about a lot of things earlier... So it's time to catch up...
First, another ST-1 chassis is taking shape : ST-1 SP, made of Carbon Fiber and Aluminium... I did have some expectation to get the car on the track last week-end, but an express delivery failure did not really help, so it will be for a next track session.. And on Saturday morning, I was in Montluçon for one day and half of testing with the different ST-1 chassis and some tyres options... On the first day, I made some test with some tires cut in some foam by one of the guys of the french vintage forums. They are made froma grey foam with a 25ish shore, and they did work better than what he proposed me earlier. I also tried some Contact RC racing tyres donut of an unknown shore (I did received them outside of a pack, and since it's not me who ordered them I have no clue of what they are actually). At the end they work as well and the donut on the rim is exactly the right diameter, but requires to be trimed on the side. And it works, and Contact RC racing tyres has other options in terms of 1/12 donut with a variety of shores between 30 and 37 for the rear and 35 and 50 for the front. I did intend to test tire treatment, but due to another express delivery fail, it did not happen. That will happen at some point... Last legs of the test was more thourough testing with the Eric and Sebastien, from the club, in particular regarding chassis comparison with Kyosho Fantom wheels. First the G10 / Fiber glass 2.5mm chassis, with slight toe out, small caster angle, brushless 21.5T, Turismo bodyshell with wing : the car was easy to control and very neutral and we thought there was no need to change anything. For the Kydex 3mm chassis with brushed Kyosho 490 Le mans 30T. The car was way more nervous due to the flex, and the radio I had with it did not really help to get it easy. At the end Eric took one of his rx, to see how he can sense the car and how to make it easier to handle: at the end we increased the caster angle and we remove the toe out almost completely. The final touch was to improvise a flap at the rear end of the 917K bodyshell... And that brought a very neutral behavior, and at the end Eric (who drives way better than I do) was almost full send everywhere on the track... Those tests were done on Sunday morning. As soon as possible we'll do some test as well with tire treatment, but it will require me to get again at the track to do it... And it's not nearby... I buy kits to built and ru(i)n them

ST-2 project is started...
The overall idea is to add flex to the chassis... First a rear cut to allow rear flex... For the front, I'm exploring ideas currently... The overall idea is to keep the same principle to be able to change caster angle while keeping the wheelbase constant, and add over this a bit of suspension... My first idea relies on a spring introduced on top of the upright, with a preload set by moving the shaft assembly up and down in the front master (the shaft would be set with hard thread lock, allowing to use the screw head to set the preload - I have the intent to test with different custom threads to check this could work nicely)... As this is exploratory, do not hesitate to comment about what you think... I buy kits to built and ru(i)n them
