Does anybody know where I can get or do they have a shim for a 380 motor ? - I tried to get a new pinion to fit but the pinion is around 3mm and the motor shaft is around 1.5mm or so.

Not sure what to use.

Prepared to pay inc. postage if anybody has anything suitable...

Hi Dreadly
I had the same matter with my holiday buggy. But here is no matter. In reality, the pinion is standard. You have a small. Brass tube between the motor and the pinion.;-)

Ahh, ok, so I just need some brass tubing? - Any idea of the size?

540 motor shafts are actually 1/8" (3.18mm) diameter, not 3mm & that extra 0.18mm will be needed to prevent a sloppy fit.
1/8" outside diameter brass tubing is common & easily sourced, what will cause you problems will be getting the inside diameter right to fit on the 380 shaft - you could either get thick-walled tube & drill it out, OR get thin-walled tube & "Tin" the bore with solder to make it slightly smaller.

If you get really stuck, I have the technology to manufacture a proper bush that's the right size, but I might need an accurate dimension for the diameter of your 380 shaft (I don't think I own one to measure myself...) - PM me if you want to investigate this route

Hehe, just been checking my signature links to make sure they all work (1 didn't) & stumbled across a dimensioned drawing of the pinion bush/sleeve thingy that I'd forgotton I'd don, & made, & fitted...

Click on the "Holiday buggy motor bracket drawing" link at the bottom of my posts & you should find the bush drawing in there, amongst a variety of other really exciting Holiday buggy bits drawings.
Enjoy!
