I was curious what type of radios you all use for your Tamiya kits ? All of my radios and receivers are older futaba am 2 channel radios with removable crystals and I have both 2 stick and pistol grips and I have one older pistol grip Tamiya radio also. They all work fine for me I don't need a 2.4 radio and my older radios are good quality as well and I prefer pistol grip but on some kits I like using 2 stick still for nostalgia reasons. Also for motors and speed controls I always just use Tamiya motors and speed controls, I had one older futaba esc but it recently started acting a bit weird so I switched it out with a tble-02s which I have heard people have problems with but I have not had a problem with so far and all of my older Tamiya esc still work after years of abuse. As far as motors I like the newer torque tuned motor I usually throw that in kits now gives it a bit more umph than stock and costs next to nothing.

I also like stick radios, so I "invested" in a
Futaba T4GRS
. Not the cheapest system, but worth every cent. Basically, it is a re-packaged T4PLS, can handle memory slots for 40 cars/receivers, and setup lots of details that I'll probably never use

My 4 ways are for the trucks, tanks and hilifts. They are hitech and 1 flysky futaba. The others are on cars or for spares for somones. I prefer sticks but I use wheele tx for the slash, TTgears and the fav. For my GPs I am still with a 40Mh saber and old futaba attack SR. Others take the dust

Used to have a similar collection but decided I wanted the garage back & it took months to get rid of. Have a few period correct Futaba sets in exceptional condition I've kept, a few new Spektrum DX sets that came with package deals. But use a Futaba 3PM-MX with a lipo battery & bunch of receivers. Could've upgraded but really don't see the point while everything is working, touch wood. The wife likes her Futaba T3PK Magnum with the same set up & I think that's one of the best that they ever made.
My other car is a Tamiya - bumper sticker on my van
