Would the slightly larger DF03 wheels fit the TT02B? I'd like to use the dual block tyres as I tend to run more on tarmac/concrete than I do off-road and I understand these might be a bit more hard-wearing. They don't appear to be available for the star-dish type wheels that are standard on the TT02B though.
Are there any other wheels/tyres that anyone can recommend? Wheels and tyres seem to be a bit of a minefield to a noob like myself. Thanks |

Both are modern chassis designs using 12mm hex hubs ... if you used "12mm hex" and "buggy" in a search (& compare overall diameter for gearing purposes) I don't think you'd go far wrong ...
As for fitting specific Tamiya tyres on other Tamiya wheels, some have odd sizes so nothing is simple ... there was a big thread on this a long while back, but I can't find it |

Dual blocks will work, you can pratically fit anything to the TT02b aslong as it has 12mm hexes F&R and you keep wheelsize to pinion gear in check (bigger wheels, smaller pinion) and dont run a to hot motor

Thanks waterbok ! that's another useful answer
In terms of wheel to pinion size - if you'll indulge my naivety - is this critical or is there a tolerance band of operation for the motor? Larger wheels seems like an easy way to improve top speed? How hot is too hot for a motor? |
