maybe it has something to do with the capacitor on the motor?
the manual says 2 x 0.1uf from each pole to the motor case. mine has one which is connected between + and - and is marked 120 underlined and its a kind of red/pink colour |

I've reasearched a bit but I can't give a sensible solution for that myself without having the car in front of me...
Not being able to suddenly go from forward to reverse is normal with this ESC. You'd otherwise need a controller that only has forward/reverse or one with a function on it to turn off the break. It does indeed save the gears but it's a different kind of driving experience... |

its new to me so i am sure i will get used to it, it came so quick it surprised me so i still have to paint it and get a new front bumper before i can take it for a spin.
the capacitors on the motor still concerns me. if they are wrong will i blow the ESC or the motor? still considering fitting a fuse even though i have been advised it is not necessary.my budget is close to empty right now but i will persevere and keep updating on the build forum |

Better to be surprised at the speed of delivery than having to really wait on your parts.
Experiencing the latter myself at the moment... Maybe I can find some new info for you on the capacitator subject. I wouldn't be very worried about it having a disastrous effect myself, nor would I about the fuse box. The fact that the car isn't running smoothly would occupy me most... Hope to see new result soon! |

I suspect it's down to ESC setup - yes it's automatic on that one, but you do still have to operate it "correctly". Edou I think already mentioned this, but you do need to make sure the transmitter has the throttle trim & stick in the zero (central) position, turn it on, then the car - this will set the neutral point on the ESC, the first time you use the throttle, go all the way to maximum up on the stick, this will set the maximum forward point on the ESC.
If you've had the trim position out (especically upwards), and/or have only just blipped the throttle, the neutral & max forward points will be wrong, which could lead to the throttle behaviour you mentioned. Try doing the setup again (or "properly" |

i did have the trims set to middle positions and turned on the transmitter before the car, but i think i probably just blipped the throttle initially as i just wanted to see if it worked! i will do it again today make sure i go to full throttle straight away.
thanks |
