HY everyone

this is in relation to my new Avante i attempted to race last sunday and another topic on here called race day .

My guess would be there's too much tension. Looks kind of hard to do a manual check on it before assembly...

Edit : do the pinion and diff line up well? Could also be a cause...



the problem is this

the big ball slipper diff that the motor pion joins with which is inbetween the front and rear differntials very 80s tech , as the picture below





THE avntie was making a strange noise nothing to bad but i heard it and having spent 430 pounds buying it i was certainely not going to race it as per my race day topic

so i looked and stripped anr rebuilt and looked
and finaly discoverd the ball diff was rubbing aginst the rear gearbox casing ????????????/

edou thought it may be that the diff was to tight causing the diff to raise up ,

eduo was 100 percent correct

however after scouring the internet i found only one refernce to this problem and that was with fitting a brushless motor ( mine was not brushless was standard 2011 rebadged 25 turn gt motor )

and the guy recommended shaving the gearbox cover , as below the red area sorry for pic quailty




becaus eno matter how much and how hard you try to set this diff up it will always raise when a powerful motor is added but mine was 25 turn which is not powerful if truth be told .


so i have shaved the gearbox and the noise is gone

the balldiff is built correctly checked several times the propbetween the diffs is not causing the diff to raise either and the gearbox cover is mounted correctley as well.

i have looked at the manta ray topic on building diff etc and am 100 percent happy with diff

as my gallery i have plenety of shelf queens but i have got to the point in my life were i think sod it race them , so i intend to attempt to race my avante again on sunday now the noise has stoppedas a result of the filing the gearbox internals.

i shall post some pics of it in action like on my raceday topic and let you know how it went

i kept all my vehicles as shelf queens i lost my sister last year at a age of 28......
and its changed my views on life so now i race all my collection it is possible to race and keep imaculate just takes a bit more work
