Front shocks for Bigwig 14 years 11 months ago #4001

Hay

so I am on this Bigiwg project and having trouble finding a kit for the front shocks. I got the kit for the rear shocks, tmaiya p/n 50304 but am having trouble getting the complete kit for the fronts, p/n 50305

can anyone help? I ahve also seen some guy used Traxxas shocks all round instead of the Tamiya shocks, is any one able to tell me teh Traxas p/n for the ones I should use.

the above probably sounds a bit basic and amateur, I am, this is all new to me, I thought I would be able to buy it all from E-bay

thanks for your help

The modern version of the CVA short shock unit has parts number 50520.
Shortest setting is 3mm longer though... and they are black.

If you have the correct length, many kinds of shocks could be fitted one way or another.
But no blasphemous Traxxas on a vintage Tamiya please! ;)

thanks Edou

I shall investigate the new p/n you quote.
as for the original kit, I had found them on e-bay and bid on them but knowing that there were alternates, they went past my limit, in the end went for 35 UK pounds.

If you don't feel the need to put all vintage parts on your car, 35 pounds will buy you some very nice shocks.
For the front and the rear - with even some change for other parts...
Brands like GPM and Yeah Racing also make great aftermarket stuff.

Btw - I put some links to stores "underneath" the brand names.
If you do a search on the approximate length needed, you're sure to get a few results.
For example 80mm is quite a common size... :)
