I won this on the bay.
came with a full set of wheels. and thought, nice I can use all of that to fix all of these these. probably missed the part were the seller mentioned the broken body so I got this broken means windscreen and rollbar missing only thing badly damaged was a rear axle (anybody have a cnc lathe to make a dozen of these?) so still no luck with sourcing spares, now I got another Willy to fix |

I wont be keeping all of them, so who knows, maybe some will show up for sale?
I think I will keep 1 swb and lwb as shelfer and maybe 1 of each as runner so that would leave me with 2 or maybe 3 left over. (yeah I got 7 in total I hope I get a chance to sort out the parts this winter. |

Seeing that pile of Willy bits made me chuckle - bit of a squirrel at heart then Waterbok? You could make a nest?
Windscreen - CD case - worked for me As for the axle tubey bits, what's up with them? Just been staring at my Willy (Here we go again) & it would appear that the bally bits (Willy balls?) are both the same, but one's just smacked into a lump of ally tube - do you think it might be a possibility to drift the bally bit out of the tube & replace one or other damaged bit? Shame you didn't live a bit closer as it doesn't look like too-hard a thing to machine up

Duh, just spotted what you mean - the spigot for the bearing is missing off the long one.... Ok, suggestion - find some tube the same size as the good spigot (Or rod & drill it out) the inside diameter isn't that important as long as it clears the actual axle shaft (Bearing supports that), then drill out the remains of the broken spigot. Use a drill about 0.1mm smaller than the spigot/tube so that it would end up about 0.05mm smaller than the tube, taking into account drill waver/drift etc (You're looking for an interference/press fit). Don't drill all the way through though, leave a step for the tube to butt up to when it's fitted.
If you don't fancy drilling, I suppose it could be done by grinding out with a Dremel etc, although you're less likely to get a good straight fit like that. Give it a try, what have you got to lose, it's already busted & un-usable...

Yep, rest asured, Willy has two of these bally things, both are identical which I believe is not commen with Willy's. It might even be possible to fix it, by drilling a hole through the ball to fit a tube, the bit that broke off is what holds the rearwheel bearing.
Maybe 3D printing the bally thing and leave out room for a press fit metalshaft might work. edit: ok, so thinking the same thing at the same time, this is spooky are you telepathic? risk by drilling might be that the bally thing disintegrates completly, but hey its already broke as you said. |

Yep teplypathetic... Actually, as I said to Lars, great minds think alike.
If it were me, I'd either machine up a new bally bit, OR bore out the remains of the bearing spigot & press-fit a tubular replacement, which would be easy cos I've got a lathe....
