58008 Lambo lp500 14 years 3 weeks ago #13934

Hello,
I'm new here and recently, I found a tamiya 58008 rc car in my basement while I was cleaning. It was in poor condition, so I decided to rebuild it. I finished it today, but I still need two things, a new pair of rear tires (the ones it had are worn out), and a rear spoiler, because it's spoiler is missing. I noticed that parts for this car are rare, so I'm asking for an offer or if someone knows where I can get those parts. I could post some pictures of it, if it would be of any assistance.
Thanks.

Welcome, Dennis_Zivas. :)

Can't help you myself with the parts but someone else here might...
The usual place to find them would be eBay.

I'd like to see some pics of the car in any case! :cheer:

I used an MScompozit Rx, because I prefer JR, I used the stock mabutsi motor and its speed controller, but I upgraded it with a powerbox I made, and a Li-po battery. There you go:

Unfortunately not, you just heat it up and it starts moving until it bumps into a wall or furniture and stops :P

That still sounds pretty cool! And it looks great. :)
We have some guys here building awesome Shermans and Tigers...
Fully remote of course!

Btw - if you're running the car, I'd say fabricate a wing of your own and look for some modern foam tyre alternative. ;)

Hi there, I have a 58008 waiting to be restored! Would you consider selling yours?

I have the first version of the king tiger II 1/16, it is twice as old as I am (I 'm 17) :P , it is fully remote, but it doesn't have many capabilities, it can do the basics (hull rotation, go back and forth, 360 degres turret rotation and it also have a light in its gun), but I keep it for historical reasons and to chase my cat :P As for the rear wing of the lp500 I have already made one out of carbon fiber, but I am still looking for an original.

BTW how much do you want for your car ;) (if you haven't sold it yet).

I 'm not selling my lp500, but I could e-mail you the plans (including the improvements I have made). You could also visit the mabutsi side for the stock motor, but I don't know if the original speed controler is available.
