I am looking for what they are, what value there worth. The one not built the toyota celica Gr.B rally special ( i saw another one on ebay asking 1300.) I was told the built car is basically the same as that awd but I cant find names on it or the truck. I can provide more pictures if that helps. thank you in advance for your help.

I did pay alot more than $10 so dont feel bad.
I dont know what this means "Who's that in the back? Could it be the misterious "restoration oil" seller???" I have never sold anything rc related before. Should I list the cars separate on ebay and the controllers and chargers as a package? Any idea on what i should be able to get or starting prices? The celica is mostly untouched ( the motor is out of the package, i think its one of the ones i took a picture of anyone know which one it is?) Thanks for the information on the porsche 959 and blackfoot. |

Not sure either, I thought the restoration oil (an earlier topic) was mystery enough in itself. And tbh, I don't think I'd get all too excited about knowing that seller... or his vomit inducing Ford. Motor is a nice one. A search on eBay could give a (usually overinflated) idea of general prices. Hold on, I will merge the topics first. A separate one seems to have been created. |

Anyway, they're nice cars and the Celica should be worth quite a bit, especially if the box cleans up nicely.
I don't expect it to bring $1300, that's what a pristine example may go for, it seems. Looks like 959s go from about 100+ euro to about 400 for a shelfer... Blackfoot is a nice car but won't bring big bucks. If the radio gear matches the era of the cars, it could be worth putting them in an auction together. |

Old chargers are practically worthless
Old radio gear is worth something ... if it's a complete set in its box ... In this case I'd suggest leaving them with the relevant cars as I think it will increase their value more than selling them seperately would bring - plus you won't have to do any dismantling. The seller of that 1300 USD Celica is living on fantasy island, even a perfect one on a good day, sold to someone really really keen is not worth that, IMO. Your one (assuming it's complete, check the back pages of the manual, the "techigold" motor is the correct one) is worth a lot less as it won't interest a collector who wants one to keep in the box ... I would guess 600USD? The Blackfoot I would think would reach 75 USD, the Porsche looks complete but a bit rough, so 120 to 150 USD? The other motor, no idea but it looks worth _something_ Those are all final values - not what you should start at, a high start price puts people off & such lots tend to reach less than if they'd started at 99c ... I'd suggest a reserve of 400 USD on the Celica just to cover yourself. Auction end times have a big bearing on final values - in the UK, Sunday between 2100 & 2200 BST/GMT is peak time, I don't know what it is in the US, I'm sure sometime on Sunday, but just when IDK... I would suggest you don't too much fiddling with the cars - wash the bodywork by all means, but any half arsed work on the rest would put me off... The other thing is to take lots of photos from all angles, including the undersides. The more information you can give the better ... I imagine you won't want to bone up on them too much, but an hour spent downloading the manuals from here & studying what things look like & noting what's scraped/worn/cracked/broken/missing/different in your listing would be worthwhile investment. Good luck with it |
