Update for my Bush Devil. Tonight i have had a little fiddle with the chassis and managed to fit a spare subaru brat underguard i had lying around. funnily the two side mounting screw holes where already in the chassis but one was never fitted in this kit.. probably a left over from another model. i had to do a tiny amount of dremmeling on the front bumper and passed a screw and bolt up through the mounting point for the bumper...but it all looks very tidy now and finishes the chassis off a little better...in fact it looks like its always been on it.
I have noticed that one of the two drive shafts has a little bend in it somehow??...god only knows how that occurred as its only running a silver can 540 I want to replace both of these they are 70mm in length. can anyone suggest a suitable hop up for them at a reasonable price?? Picture below shows the chassis as it currently stands the rear arms just dont look right to me. i think the arms need proper toe in adjusters and they need flipping around from the front to the back of the arms to fill out the rear a little as i have noticed they foul the shocks slightly at compression. however if you flip them around at the top of the compression they will catch the motor on one side so limiting the travel a little. i dont think they would ever reach this compression height however under normal use so it may be a compromise worth making to solve the fouling of the shocks. i have attached the pics with the original arms flipped over hopefully this will clarify my points?? Thanks for looking and any advice P.S Next is an electronic speed controller and some proper shocks as and when the budget allows |

Underguard looks great!
That crooked axle can only have been caused by bad driving skills... I know Manta Ray dogbones are also 70mm so that could be an alternative. Don't know if I understand your other problem correctly but I think it might be solved by using a bushing and some longer screws to attach the shock to the arm... but I'll have to take another look if I understand the issue correctly. Btw - do you have the motor wires (in the wanted ad) already? Think I'll have some for you if you don't... |

yeah im very happy with the underguard and yes the bent shaft has to be down to poor driving skills from its previous owner i hasten to add Im still looking for motor wires if you have a set that would be a great help towards finishing my Super Sabre project. Last couple of jobs but i cant seem to get it finished as im also finishing my wild willy 2 rebuild and also this too If you have a set ill pm my address thanks Best Regards |
