I'll have to solder them off a silver can still but yes - I do have a set of motor wires for you. If you send me a pm, I'll put them on the mail this weekend. Tell you in advance there's no cost involved. |

hi
Quick update as just started back on this car. I was awaiting the wheels that Darc promised for this but they never arrived I have made an attempt at painting the original pink rims that came with this as i have decided they are just too loud for my tastes The paint job is unsatisfactory however so im looking around for some rims to replace them. Can anyone suggest a type of rim for this that will use the original tyres and also have the original fitments of bearings for the front wheels and the standard hex fitment for the rears. will i have to use tamiya rims or will others have the same fitment? i liked the look of the rims Darc was going to send i think they where HPI rims they where chromed too. Regards |

Define "unsatisfactory"? If you were trying to get them to look chromed, then despite what some paint manufacturers claim, it was never going to happen ... if it doesn't look good otherwise, I don't know, clean the paint off and try again? I'm not sure about other makes, but the only Tamiya wheels I can think of that will take those tyres and fit on the long dual bearing front spindles and 12mm hexes on the rear are those for the king Blackfoot ... which are red. Wild Willy 2 wheels are at least chrome, and have the right fittings - but the tyres are smaller. Chrome Pumpkin wheels have the right fitting on the front, but the rears use the round "rolling axle" type hubs - I don't think the shafts on the Budh Devil are long enough for them. Monster Beetle wheels are the right size for the tyres - but use the same round hubs ... I just checked darc's profile & it says he hasn't been online for 25 days |

Thanks JR I have decided to go with a new set of Wild Willy 2 wheels and tyres as i have a set here on my wild willy and i have tried them and they fit great and look the part.
I ordered some oil filled ansmann shocks in the week. very cheap but excellent quality and they fit brilliantly. they look like they will improve the handling considerably. Just desperate for some drive shafts now i have measured them and they are 65mm in length. i measured incorrectly originally thinking they where 75mm somehow and ordered a set of 75mm only to find they where too long. anyway in to my growing parts bin with them they where a bargain at |

Just thought id post the progress on my Bush Monster. Fitted the wild willy 2 wheels and tyres as they arrived today they are a little smaller than the originals but im very happy with the result they look so much better than the original pink wheels that came with this. I have the Ansmann oil filled shocks fitted and they look and seem to perform well. I also managed to straighten the mild bend in one of the driveshafts using patience and a little brute force but it seems to have worked out quite well.
I have an electronic speed controller to fit now and i have to source a sunroof and driver for the shell im not sure whether to paint the nosecone black? it should be ready to run pretty soon so i can take it out a get it dirty. Regards PS please excuse the pics they are just quick snaps |

Yeah, it doesn't blend in very well, does it? On the other hand, the whole car is of such, um, "mixed parentage" I'd be inclined to leave it - might help show which way the car is pointed |

Thanks Edou ill probably end up painting it to match the rest of the body or perhaps ill leave it as is and like JR says it will help guide it
Mixing and matching different parts from all the different Tamiya cars is one of my favourite parts of the hobby JR as you can personalise your cars in lots of different ways and i find it more enjoyable than following the crowd box art |
