Anyone have an idea why the 58052 Newman Porsche doesn't show up in any of the guide books?
Seems to be strangely absent.
Is it maybe because it was aimed for the US, same why the Daytona Thunder and Street Devil don't make an appearance...

That is a good explanation, but the Newman Porsche is part of the first 100  (not that this has to mean anything) I'd never heard of the other 2 till now

Apparently the car itself won Le Mans so that must have made it appealing for the euro market.
Maybe Mr. Newman not so much...
Tamiyapedia shows a (guide book?) picture though :

The other cars are not well known. But Group Cs - for which I have somewhat of a fetish.
Street Devil shell is actually pretty cool and made by Parma for the T-brand (ZZ Top-ish).

I don't know why there are some models missing in the Guide Books. I'm guessing they were so short lived that they never made it into a Guide Book before they were discontinued??

Models I cant find in any of my 37 Guide Books: (among the first 200 models)
58052 Porsche Newman
58119 Toyota Celica GT-Four RC
58120 Axia Skyline GT-R Gr.A
58135 Calsonic Skyline GT-R Gr.A
58140 HKS Nissan Skyline GT-R Gr.A
58151 Calsonic Nissan Primera JTCC Upgrade Special
58153 Daytona Thunder
58174 Street Devil
58190 JACCS Accord Upgrade Special

Indeed, very interesting. Could be a good explanation. These cars should also be rarer than usual then...
On the other side of the spectrum, the Manta Ray and 58099 Skyline show up for about a decade.

Edit - Pumpkin too. :side:

 Is it not because they are limited editions? like the calsonic limited edition?

Now I'm just getting confused. ;)
It doesn't really account for the 58119 Celica TA01 though - that's seems to have been quickly replaced with the 58129 TA02.
Same body shell...
Not sure when they started giving limited editions special model numbers (later at least).
