I think my Son has been touching the trucks again 😄

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem mate :)

I have an on going Toyota Hilux restoration.
So today I thought I’d have a go at fixing the spot lights I’d managed to pick up. I’ve heard a few people talk about using the Blackfoot ones, but I’m not convinced they’re exactly the same, plus I wanted to find some originals in the white plastic.
Only one of the three was not broken so I used it as my template to fix the other two.

Original on the left and my effort on the right.
So all 3 of the backs of the spots.
The plastic tube I’ve used is a little bit thinner so when I put them together I’ll probably have to add something for the screws to bite into.
And now the fronts.
On top the original and underneath is my attempt.
All of them done.
The plastic tubes are great because they all slot into each other. And I had a go at using Plastic Weld to hold the bits together. So I’ll be interested to see how solid it all feels.
At the end of the day once I’ve got some paint on and the decals on the front hopefully they’ll look smart enough.

Next year is going to be mostly body work and painting which I’m looking forward to. Especially as it means a whole bunch of projects can finally be completed.

Second job of today. I bought this Blackfoot a couple of years ago , I got it because it was the original one, with “ Ford “ on the bonnet and on the tailgate as well.I had only really bought this for the body shell, initially the idea was to use it to create an SRB Ford Ranger.Any way, I’ve got a brand new re-release body set, so either way I’ve got a shell for this chassis.Today I’ve torn it down because what ever happens it needs everything stripped down and cleaned. And any broken bits found. And yes talking of breaks. Rear trailing arm, snapped where the shock attaches. Even worse it’s the left hand side, which means I have to buy 2 sets of parts for this and my Brat build. Any way here’s everything in plastic trays.A lot of the fixings are rusty, but when I finally got the chassis apart there was sand on the inside of the chassis sides.Only one screw had to be cut off.

Here’s the complete car.
The shocks, body posts, uprights ( to replace broken ones on this chassis, MSC, pinion cover and steering were all picked up separately to complete the car. I think I also had to buy the front wheels and tyres as well. It all adds up.

Finally, I picked up a new chassis parts tree, the original one has been sprayed and I’m just not interested in stripping the paint off to discover what’s underneath.
So if I use some of the parts left over from my Brat build, this should end up looking very smart, hopefully.

The blackfoot is mythic. I would like to strip mine and do it boxart.

Flo, pictures of your Blackfoot please.
Box art seems to work best, but it would be good to see some alternatives.
I don’t think the yellow wheels work ??

Cheers Al

Speaking earlier to Al about "extras" left over, this is my latest hybrid ta01/02 build using some of those extras and a new body set I had hanging around. Of course in true fashion I had to buy more stuff and as of completing this one..............I still have extras!!!! LOL

That looks great Jim, such a good looking car.
You’ve hit the nail on the head, you have almost enough parts to build another car, but you have to buy some more bits to finish and then still end up with more spares.
It’s an RC conundrum !!!

I’ve got an FAV, Wild One, 2 Sand Rovers, Frog, original 3 speed , 2 Cheetahs, 3 XR311’s, 2 or 3 SRB’s that are 80-90% there.
You can just end up buying more and more spares to finish cars off !!!
