HI!... So basically these two brand new never used $75 batteries are now garbage? Frickin great...........  :n: :(

The HP Freak - have you got a multimeter?
If so, measure the battery voltage.

If it reads something more than 0, the batteries are just flat & the chargers don't like it.
I don't know if it would work, but if you connect a good battery in parallel with a duff one (+ to +, - to -), & connect to the charger, it might "trick" the charger into starting its charging sequence (Cos it will see voltage/a battery connected). It won't hurt anything as the voltage will be the same, just the capacity has increased (ie it would just take longer to charge). This definately won't work if the failsafe has activated, as this circuit will have disconnected the battery from its wiring.

If it reads 0.00 (ie nothing at all) it means the failsafe has activated, the battery is useless, as there is no way the electricity can get past the failsafe circuit, ie it's impossible to charge by any method (Unless you can get to the actual battery terminals pre-failsafe, without destroying the integrity of the seal of the cell)

HI!... Well my iCharger 206B has a built in battery voltage checker. One is only showing 4.22 volts total, so it's discharged a lot. For some weird reason the 2nd LiPo is now taking a charge. It's currently charging. Just found a older 7.4 that's now not excepting a charge due to low voltage. All today I've been charging up all 20 LiPo's I have. Going to be running my T-MAXX to E-MAXX conversion on the weekend and a buddies boat I just converted to brushless.

Anyway the only other way I can think of with my resources to get some start up voltage into these two LiPo's is to hook them directly to a 6Volt car battery charger I have and set it on trickle charge with is 1AMP. Then babysit it and constantly check it with a volt meter.

HI!... O.k well I tried charging the batteries and now the charger will charge them. Weird. :silly: 2 out of the 3 charged to 8.42volts which is normal. The 3RD for some reason charged to 8.60 volts, which is a bit high. The charger never shut off it just kept on charging. It wasn't adding anymore voltage, just mAh. I'll run that LiPo tomorrow and see what it does.

Weird indeed... I've seen all sorts of odd things from modern batteries, & anyone on here will tell you I just don't trust them. I still prefer NiCds, you know what you're getting with them. Not a fan of "intelligent" devices either, for the same reason - they stop you doing what you want to do, because "they know better"!

For future, I really wouldn't recommend thrashing a lithium-based pack with a car battery charger (I'm reading that as an automotive one?) as most are just a basic transformer + rectifier setup, & give a really coarse output, which can damage lithium batteries (& gel type lead-acid ones, in case you're interested). If you plan to use this type of charger in future, I would suggest hooking up a high capacity battery in parallel with the one you're trying to charge - the high-capacity battery should act as a large capacitor & smooth out the output from the charger, making it less destructive for the lithium pack. Keep an eye on the charging current too - most modern batteries can get upset if you try to charge them at too high a rate (Too many amps)

Oh & the Tmaxx/Emaxx conversion sounds great! I've often thought about doing that as Emaxx are usually more expensive to buy second hand than Tmaxx. I had an Emaxx & do quite miss it, hilarious truck!

Cool! Wheels are a bit big for my liking, but I love the on-road idea!
Single motor? Does that mean you used the Tmaxx tranny?

HI!... Yes I used the stock T-MAXX tranny full ball raced with full Robinson Racing steel gears inside. No plastic gears anywhere on this beast. The E-REVO tires/wheels are actually a 1/4 inch smaller in diameter than the stock T-MAXX ones. They just look bigger due to the truck is lowered.
