Hi all.
I have a vintage Sand Rover which i had as a kid and has been up in the loft for many years. I got the urge to restore it a few weeks ago so my young grandson can have it when he's older. Initially i was going to modify the suspension and fit led's, ESC, etc but have since decided to keep it all original and age related apart from a clean and repaint, new body clips and aerial tube. could do with some vintage rear tyres if anyone can help.
I thought i would get a Subaru Brat and go to town on that instead of the Sand Rover as i always wanted the Brat way back when......
Have not picked up a Brat yet, will have to wait till next year as i got distracted by the F350 and Bruiser kits which i seem to have purchased under the influence of alcohol. They are going to be long term projects, one will be pretty much standard and one modified but have not decided which yet. If anyone has any recommendations as to what works best on each kit i would be interested to hear.
I can see that my initial Sand Rover restoration is going to lead to a lot of expense, or in the wife's case..It was very cheap!!!!
Regards

Andy

:) Welcome on board Andy,
Good luck for your rear tires... They are relatively hard to find and expensive. HIlifts and bruiser are wonderfull kit to bild. The only advice I can give you, is that you must to respect the building manual.
The brat rere is very cool and has a better fiability than the original (better dogbones).
If you have some picts, that could be nice ;)

As it came out of the loft, it was originally orange as per the box but then i did a rather dodgy 'Luv Bug' paint job. The stripdown has started.
