My name is Erich, and I live in Santiago de Chile, far down in South America. I've been browsing and reading Tamiyabase ever since Lars started working on it. Also, I've been meaning to signup & register for a long time, well, now I am finally a member here, and very happy to share the TB with super people like Lars and Andy! I hope to make new friends, exchange parts, ideas and basically ENJOY the hobby. I've been running Tamiya cars for over 25 years, and I became interested specifically in the brand back in 1988. I used to be a member of some business-website based in the UK, I suppose some of you guys remember seeing my cars there. Other than that, I'm excited about joining you here. I see Lars have done a very nice work putting up the TB.

These are some of my cars & projects as today:

I have other cars that I believe you're going to find interesting. I'll try to put up a showroom later.

Hope you'll have a nice Wednesday! :)

" I used to be a member of some business-website based in the UK "

 That's one way of looking at it  I almost fell off my stool here..

Welcome aboard man, I would hardly call Chile a third world country though. Some great looking stuff. I really like the look of that gold coloured old school pickup, what chassis is under it, or is there a chassis under it? Also where did you find the body? It give me all kinds of ideas...very cool. I also really like the Super Champ in red, I was just discussing an alternate paint job for one......thanks......:)
From somewhere out in the wilds of central Ontario.
.......you build what you like, I will build what I like........it's all cool......

Thank you guys for the warm welcome. Had I known I was going to be treated here as if I was Mel Gibson or something I would have signed in much earlier, LOL!

Anyway, please excuse me while I get used to the functions of the forum, I don't seem to find how to respond each one of you here (yet), so I'll go in one post.

Lars and Andy: Sure nice to finally be here, and join the goodnatured TB spirit and community!

stingray-63: Nice to e-meet you Flo. Weeks ago I was telling Lars I liked your enthusiasm. It's contagious and does well for the TB community. Actually, that's one of the side reasons why I finally took the step to join.
Oh and YES, that's the early 80's Kyosho Honda 250-R ATC motorbike. A blast to run and sooo nice to look at, if you ever liked this kind of vehicle. I have a Forward-only LRP ESC hidden inside its guts. Although of course, I hate getting it dusty, haha.

TommieG: It's a long story. All I can say is even in poor countries like mine we do have consumer laws. And that website is really a business. After spending about hundred pounds in about a decade I think it is only fair I would expect a better treatment than just a "sorry, mate". Thinking of it as the business that it actually is.
Still, I'm trying, and trying hard, to stay positive.

oldwilly: Well, what can I say "same as above" LOL... As for my country, well, I live here. I'm a college professor and deal with Economics, and while you might get some happy numbers to read every now and then, the hard fact is life is not easy in here (if anywhere else for that matter). Thing is this is certainly no 1st world, pal.
The "Golden Nugget" Dodge A-100 truck is been boxed and is waiting for parts to be finished. The rear axle (originally a Hornet's that I had to sell somewhere along the line) is a Rock Buster one that is waiting at a friends place in NJ, waiting to be shipped. Same with the pulling tires. The chassis is just a pair of aluminum rails. In a picture below you'll be able to see the prototype with thicker rails. I now have thinner ones, and as soon as I receive the gearbox I'll be able to come back to this RC project. The body (Bolink "Lil Red Wagon" 1:12) is supposed to flip on its nose for the battery to be removed. It's a simple design that, once ready, you're probably going to like.

JonnyRetro: Thanks! The 2wd Dodge A-100 puller is boxed waiting like forever for the missing parts to be shipped. Now the International Harvester tractor is about to be finished. I need to do cut a little the metal sheet on the rear and then I can finally get it all red, and detail done. Unfortunately I have lots of stuff going on around me right now, so I can only go at a snail pace. But it is coming along nicely. It never fails to draw a smile on this here face. By the way, I like your restorations. Some pictures below:

I.H. Super stock Pulling tractor:

Another shot of the 1984 Kyosho/Robbe Honda 250R ATC (the driver was still over my bench being restored):

This is the inspiration for the Dodge A-100 in gold:

Custom front axle design + rear powerplant. And that's what is planned for chassis (although I now have rails more in scale):

Over my bench. I was very excited. Now waiting for the missing parts to be shipped had taken like longer a year now. Still not loosing hopes...

You all have a fantastic Thursday. And thanks again for the warm welcome! :)
