Hello from an old aged newbie. Real name Karl.
I have joined the forum for a couple of reasons.I had a big interest for these RC cars in the 80's when I was in my teens.I still have a couple of them.I have an original Frog and an original Toyota pickup 4x4. There is a Blazing Blazer body somewhere that I also got for the Toyota chassis. They sit in my loft in their Beaties toy store bags. I have managed to keep the box art also. Unfortunately no instruction manuals. More recently my father in-law just passed away, and he was an avid model maker. He used to build narrow gauge steam engines from scratch, so was well adept to building on a small scale. He has left behind some Tamiya models that we will not be needing, so I will be posting them up for sale soon on ebay. There will be a Sandrover , newer version,a Wild Willy2 ,and an IsuzuMu type X black metalic each with a radio control. My children have inherited a model each so they have a Grasshopper and the Lunchbox to mess about with. A question to the wise and knowledgeable among you, when selling these items on Ebay how and what do you lot do for postage , or is it best to arrange collection only for these pre made models? Thanks in advance for any advice. Karl. |

Welcome on board Karl. Except the frog and the hilux, there are rereleased . If you have enough space, I will keep them for remember or /and run them. They aren't rare and (except maybe for the mu but unsure) you don't have the money you expect. I have a frog vintage and a ww2 first gen new built for sale since some monthes. At your place, I 'll keep them.

Welcome
eBay - especially if you are willing to post will give you the widest audience & theoretically the highest sale price. I haven't attempted to sell anything since the "new" rules came in, AFAIK you put in the size/wieght of the parcel & ebay give the buyer a couple of options for post, they choose & pay, and once it's got it's first tracking event it's no longer your problem (unless siginificantly not as described). Buyers are also required to pay a small "protection" fee whan buying from private sellers. In the past I've just worked out what it would cost to send, added that to a Buy It Now price and called it "free" post, I think you can still do that. I don't think it's worth selling things on eBay as auctions, my experience has been you either get a bit less than you expected, or half what you expected. When buying, things are always more than you want to pay, I'm not clear how that adds up. If you do want to "auction", Sunday between 9 and 10pm always used to get the most interest/highest bids. You'll have to work out when to list, 3, 5 7 or 10 days in advance, thought you used to be able to pay a wee fee to have something start at a nominated time. Lots of photos, including underneath and with the body off, don't use the dread AI generated text. A Buy It Now Price that's a bit less than other directly comparable things avaliable at the time is better - your Mu and Willy are very tidy, I would have thought about 180 and 120 respectively (plus post), maybe 75 for the Sand Rover. Don't put a BIN price AND an auction start price, some chancer will come along within seconds with a 99p, taking away the chance to sell at a fixed price. Also disable the "Best Offer", unless you want to get offers of 20% of the asking price 30 minutes after it goes live. Look into the "block bidder" list & put anyone that you have to say "no" to on there. Another change is that eBay and other electronic sales sites are now legally required to grass you up to the HMRC when you sell more than 800 GBPs worth of stuff in a year, and more than 30 items. Supposedly this is meant to catch traders rather than people selling unwanted items, but it's funny how "may" is always functionally equivalent to WILL when it come to government - IDK how you feel about "maybe" being moved onto Self Assessment IMO this makes selling on eBay (even for more money) a lot less attractive than, say, facebook marketplace & other local cash only options. in fact, having typed this all out, I'm note sure I'd want to use it again
