Sort of disillusioned with the new stuff out there. I'd like to say I could fancy the new Bruiser, but they still haven't sorted the mismatched front/rear track, & I'd rather not have one than be staring at that puke-inducing mismatch! (Which bugs me more than the price!)
I think I'd have one of those metal-chassis scalers RC4WD do, if it wasn't for the price tag. Considered a re-re Holiday Buggy for bashing, but I've no spare cash for fun at the mo. Love the look of Group-Cs, but I've nowhere to run one, plus again, I refuse to pay the price tag for what little you get in the box

A mate of mine moved to Canada three years ago. He was back in the UK with his family for Christmas this year and visited us. I knew he was into old cars and motorbikes, so I thought he might be interested in my various RC piles of junk. Turns out he restored a Boomerang to shelf queen condition which is now sitting on a shelf in his son's room. He also threw away a complete original Kyosho Scorpion (albeit with a broken rear wishbone) before he moved because he didn't know what it was |

I wouldn't mind trying one of the new Sand Rover models, they look a lot cheaper and the original was a lot of fun. Do they handle the same?
I have reminants of an original sand rover but its so busted I can't restore it and the parts are impossible to find now. Also I have NEVER owned or driven any 4wd Tamiya model yet or any other make. So it would be interesting to try one. This got me thinking about the Twin Detonator or maybe a TA02 build? Would love a Tyrell P38 shelf queen, never driven the F1 cars, I just love the look |

Bog no, the re-re is far superior to the original in terms of handling - especially if you put oil shocks on it. Drawbacks are that the wheelbase & track is even more wrong than the original (the front wheel placement looks stupid), and Tamiya made huge gouges in the bodywork rather than make it fit properly |

So the Sand Viper has oil shocks as standard and looks better! Maybe a better option? But not as nostalgic I guess? Interested to know the opinion of the Street Rover with you people? |

I just want a Tamiya. Vintage or not but low price. My dreams are a 959 in pretty condition and a taisan TA02SW. The TA02SW is the last version I miss to have all versions of it. I have got the all TA03 wheelebase versions F R FS and RS. I would like to a lunch box just to can build one with my hands. |

I for one love the look of the Street Rover, & I KNOW Edou loves the wheels!
Like I said, I'd like to have that new (Holiday Buggy) chassis for a spot of bashing, it looks really capable for a 2wd, very similar to RC10, Annsmann Mad Rat, Mardave Cobra etc. Never seen one up close, but it looks like there's a lot of viability for major modding

I think the only new model I'm considering is the Kyosho Sand Master, thanks to it being a good attempt at:
1) Creating a NEW buggy release, which 2) Is packed with retro/realistic style ...two things Tamiya seem incapable of doing, year in year out. (Re-re's, revamps and rehashes do not qualify) I bet if Tamiya had released the Sand Master, many more people would be buying it. www.rctoymemories.com www.rctoymemories.com - A nostalgia site about vintage and retro radio controlled cars & other toys, from Tamiya, Nikko, Kyosho, Radio Shack and many more.
