TA05R (IFSR) (Full Option) 1 year 11 months ago #79483

A year back i sold off a TA05-IFSR, the light blue box kit. Regretted it immediately. It was almost full option, except the rear ally bulkhead. It turns out my idea of full option was not quite to par. Recently, as in a week ago, i came across a deceased estate sale. The seller was clueless so i opted to assist with moving a lot of the chassis, all TRF's. I had my eye on four chassis, TA03R-TRF Special, TB EVO5, 2 x TA05R V2's, all of which were built and never used, and came with various installed Tamiya motors and esc's, Transpeeds, Volacs, all the good stuff....... Along with a TT01 box full of TRF and normal Tamiya hop ups, and a couple unpainted Legacy B4's, both versions. It looked like this guy had once bought out a hobby store. I will share another post with the parts soon. But for now, here is one of my newly acquired, FULL OPTION TA05R V2. Every hop available, bulkheads, titanium screw set, titanium TRF turnbuckles! (i have never seen these in real life), everything, its all there. So my sold TA05-IFSR is now a distant memory soon to be forgotten.

I had an old reasonably used 2007 Tamiya NSX shell that was intended for the 05 IFS platform. Happened to have a full Raybrig sticker set, it made sense. Although the body color wasn't quite box art spec, i think it turned out pretty good! To the bar shelf it goes!

Thank you.:) I am a pretty big fan of the IFS platform and its ability to run newer style shells. Which is a big bonus for an older chassis. I tried mounting a blitz shell on a 416x with stock towers, no go… So I ended up getting hold of a set of TA07 towers intended for the optional SSBB TRF dampers which solved the problem

Very Nice TA05.

No matter how many new builds I do, this is my runner time after time. I have a Mitsubishi body on mine form a TB series.

I will post a few pics later.....
