Hi Rich I went through my box of random unidentified spares looking for some drive shafts for you. No joy at that size just a pair at about 70mm so way off. Sorry mate.

No worries Al. I make some from my spares

Starting to look like a Lunchbox now. Found sidepipes and rear bumper..

I made a steering stop today.
At full turn the crank over which will break the steering knuckles sooner or later.

Shimmed up the drive shaft today.
One o-ring at wheelaxle and a servo rubber grommet cut in half. I`m out of black o-rings atm.
This side binds at full steering to the left which I have to fix.

Fitted the one to the other side as well. One stock o-ring and half servo rubber bushing in gearbox end.

Filled the rear shocks, found some other springs and fitted bump stops.
Now they are much better and the bump stop was perfect as tire now is approx 2-3mm from body at full travel.

Also found some 61mm drive shafts which happen to be little fatter, which is better in my case as my other ones are 3mm at the shaft, vs the 61mm ones 3.5mm.
Most H.S tubes that are 4mm OD, is 3.2mm on the inside.
So either I drill the tubes to 3.5mm ID, or file down the shafts to 3.2mm to retain the strenght of the tube.
I`m most likely going for the latter.
I have some 5x3mm brass tubes, but they tend to be a bit heavy.
I do not have a thick wall 5mm aluminium tube in my parts bin, but I would have gone for that if I had....

Not much left now....

Turns out I had a pack of 4mm aluminium tubes in stock.
With 0.45mm wall thickness there will be 0.1mm gap for glue, perfect!

So I cut a pair of tubes to 35mm, cut down the 63.5mm driveshafts down to 49.5mm.
Then glued them with green Locktite type glue (machine fasting glue)

After the drive shafts and propeller shaft was glued, it was time to tackle the right front wheel issuie which would bind at full lock to the left.
No matter what I did with shimming the driveshaft, even turned the drive shaft it would bind.
So instead I fitted my newly made driveshafts to the front.
I made a bunch of 6mm diameter shims of 2mm Eva foam and up front one at each side was perfect!

So the 46.5mm drive shafts was relocated to the rear.
Here, one Eva foam shim was enough at wheel side and two at the transmission side.

And the propeller shaft was fitted.
Beside the missing front drive shaft that is still drying, this is now 4x4!

Now I need to find a fitting motor for this.
Due the weight I`m thinking of 22 turn motor or so.
I do have a Kyosh Outlaw Stock 22t and a Kyosho K Speed 21 turn that might work.
Also need to find a 16t pinion (lowest number pinion DF01, TA01/02 will take).

So a test drive is near.
Not sure I have a spare ESC atm, but I have loads of MSC lol

Also today I filed down the stock Lunchbox wheel adapters as they did bind a small amount.
Now rear wheels turn freely

Only missing esc and receiver now.

Fitted a Rush 21t motor today and soldered the wires.
Also found a pinion.

Also swapped out the front springs for some softer ones. Needs a tiny bit more preload..

And found some old velcro straps that works for holding down my battery..

To run I`m missing:
ESC or
MSC + servo (have plenty of MSC`s in parts bin! )
Windscreen. Everybody is out of stock atm. Hope to find a seconhand one in meantime....

And I had to test if my driveshafts did work
Due hopping I did not dare to film longer lol

Hurrah, it works and I test drove it for the first time on the kitchen floor.
Spins really easy with that 22t motor

Minus a few bolts, it`s now complete.

It is not light!!!

I did use a MSC in the end.
My Radiolink receiver sends direct battery boper to the servos, not good when using non high power servo.
Luckly, in the parts bin I found a receiver battery eliminator switch, which takes the receiver input down to 6.35v. Much better!
All it needed was a servo plug.
Found a sound Futaba servo for my MSC and I made a servo link from spare bits.
All it missing now is two bolts, 6 washers and two nuts which bolt the bottom chassis to the tub via the orginal steering servo mount holes.

Ment to take a test drive outside today in the fresh snow, but it got pitch dark before I was finishing building.
Will try to make a short video tomorrow.

Did the first test drive outside today, not without issues tho...

First even before I left my bench I noticed the front right was not moving.
I managed to find a third 46.5mm driveshaft, so I swapped out the glued one that came unglued.

First test outside and the left front driveshaft gave up almost instant.
Inside and rumble through my stuff and found one 45mm driveshaft. I suspected this to be way too short.

Second test run outside and the 45mm popped out after about 10 meters and locking the tire as it got jammed.
But it was good 10 meters in the snow. It behaved exactly like a normal Lunchbox due the non grip tires, Even down to over and understeer.
And this is exactly what I wanted, a footprint of stock Lunchbox, but with 4x4

I need to get hold of at least one 46.5mm - 50mm driveshaft.
After searching my LHS has nothing and the 52mm I bought yesterday, did not fit, too long.
Found HPI 47mm, 86937 online which will fit the bill nicely.
Order next week.
At least I know my concept work now

Finally success!!!!!

Let the glued driveshaft to dry for 48 hours, and now was solid!

I made 3 videos of my first test run today and weather was perfect!

Enjoy!
