Does anybody cut his own carbon plates?
Makes sense? I would like to build a 4WD mix from the FF04 and XV01 whit 260mm wheelbase - all parts are present |

Have done it in aluminium, see my DF01 Lunchbox.
Cover the plate with masking tape, draw lines and locations for holes. Drill with 1.5mm drillbit to get more pecise location. Cut shape, englarge holes and remove masking tape. At least that is how I would do it... If the orginal plate is flat it easy to copy. Have wondered to do the same, but carbon plates is silly money now. My LHS sells 2.5mm carbon sheets at 69 dollars (250x400mm), usually out of stock. 3mm is 500x400mm at 86 dollars, also sold out.... Kit money imo lol. |
