Tamiya TBLE-02S ESC Question 5 years 9 months ago #64261

I changed Bangood site information to US, and it displays it. Thanks.

That being said, this correspond to a situation where the servo is trying to move the horn but can't. I believe it was not the case at the moment it happened. I also believe the current draw in normal conditions with a 2WD buggy front wheels is far in most of the circumstances to succeed to lock the servo horn, especially with a servo saver...

In any case, even though I changed the servo, I'm not sure I'm confident enough to fire up this ESC with the new receiver...

Tamiya TBLE-02S ESC Question 5 years 9 months ago #64263

I think I would have used another esc with the the new receiver to be on the safe side

In my cars I have only 6 esc's at the moment:
Tamiya TEU-101BK in a few vehicles.
HPI 15T esc in my M02.
Traxxas XL-5 esc in my re-re Lunchbox since I drive in all weathers (but it has annoing weak brakes)
Holmes BR-XL in my SCX10
Castle Sidewinder 3 that is currently unused - can be fitted to any brush or brushed motors, no motor limit on 2s.
Hobbywing 1080 brand new that will go into my TA02 Zakspeed Capri project.

Most of my vintage ish vehicles has MSC, which I do like.

Tamiya TBLE-02S ESC Question 5 years 9 months ago #64265

I've not decided yet for the ESC: my son may push me to get my DT-03 back on track sooner than a new ESC can arrive :-D;

By the way, I just find the details about my son's DT-03 servo: it is rated for 20KG, and the current draw at max load is less than 1 Amp. I'm going for the same (it's not low profile, but should not really be an issue)... Still not easy to find the detailed and complete specs: I had to find a site which displays it. I may try with this one and the Tamiya ESC. Worst case scenario, it doesn't go well, and we will be sure about the ESC...

For reference I found one tool which allow servo test including current draw:  XBC100 SMART Battery Checker & Servo Driver (SPMXBC100)
Won't go for it right now, but could be useful to keep in mind for those having similar issue as the one we talked in this thread...

Tamiya TBLE-02S ESC Question 5 years 7 months ago #65127

Quick update:
Since I mounted the Turbo Scorpion, I have now a SkyRC Progbox to program the SkyRC ESC. This progbox has a Servo tester included...
I took the time to test the different servo to understand their actual consumption:
- MG996R : 2.9A
- DS3218Pro: 3.4A
- SPT4412LV 12KG : 2.9A

Based on the servos current draw, here is my conclusions:
- none of the combo should work with a TBLE-02S theorically, but they are. The bec is not exactly limited to 1.5A...
- I removed the high torque servo saver on my DT03 - sometimes it doesn't not center back properly again, and went back to standard servo saver. I believe it may have been part of the issue...
- I'm definitely considering adding a condos in the setup on the RXs  sideeto reduce risks of glitches (specially could be useful with SVC on, as SVC will increase the levels of variations and the speed of the variation in the current draws from the Steering servo)

Anycase, there is not much ways to understand what broke the two RX than to try kill other ones and understand what happened... But this would be costly exercise (and may definitely came from a RX fault, or a RX design issue)....
