Every month or so I check the Tamiyablog website for new releases and has anybody noticed not a lot happening lately?
First off, I don't really think a pair of pliers or set of shocks should count as a new release.... Am I missing something? Seems like not a lot of RC kit releases?? |

IIRC Tamiya usually sit on their new releases, especially the more "interesting" ones until the next "big" toy fair, most often Nuremburg (end of January), but I would guess New York (mid Feb) and Tokyo (end August) also figure prominently in their planning?. Not sure about Hong Kong (mid January).
Big, round model numbers (like the 58500 Sand Rover) don't seem to mean much, nor do anniversaries, unless you want another polycarbonate Porsche body on a plastic chassis.

Hi Jim, I’ve been doing the same as you, keeping an eye out for something new and ideally interesting, but as you say it’s been very quiet.
I had been hoping for something good with Christmas coming up on the horizon. I guess they thought the Mini and Honda City Turbo are those items. Roll on next year. I probably shouldn’t complain it means my bank account can take a break. |

Exactly my thought! With 50 years of R/C coming up, it could get nuts! IG_tamiyaddiction

Geez - When you compare to 2024, there were official releases in nearly every month.
Then 2025 so far has been the months of 3,4,5,6,8,9, (missing 1,2,7,and 10) and who knows for 11 and 12. Very interesting. IG_tamiyaddiction
