Battery and charger for 90s fighter buggy rx 3 months 3 weeks ago #82345

I found my old Fighter Buggy RX in the basement at my parents’ house over the weekend.Since I took good care of my things even as a kid, it’s still in very good condition. I even still have the original transmitter. The only things missing are the battery pack(s) and the charger.I’ve read that I could upgrade to an electronic speed controller such as the Hobbywing 1060 to use LiPo batteries. However, I’d really like to keep the buggy in its original condition and not replace the speed controller at least if there are still high-capacity NiMH battery packs available that fit the chassis.Do you have any recommendations? I’ll also need a suitable charger. If anyone’s interested, I’d be happy to post some photos when I get the chance.

The imax B6 charger is a good one and any nimh new batteries in your shop or internet are enough for a fighter buggy rx.

136mm length, 45mm widt and 25mm thickness seems to be the max on most Tamiya chassis.
As long as the battery is within these measurements it should fit.
4000mah seems to fit fine and some 5000 will fit as well.

I have Imax B6 Ultimate charger (12v runnig of an old pc psu) that I had for years. Works really good. Does any battery without High Voltage lipo, unless you change the menu.
If you plan to travel with rc cars, I do recomend using a charger that can run of 12v, as you can use the cigarett outlet.
If you plan only to charge at home, I recomend one with wall socket. Some charges has both options, usually more expensive ones.

The b6 is my"daily" charger. All my nimh 1800 mah to 4200 mah. I charge my mn 78 and mn82  sticks li ion ones with it. And my lipo for the dt03.  And I  charged pb real cars batteries like my wife's mazda2 and my own car (don't remind if it was the c4 or the pt cruiser).
