Bowtie Clodbuster body repaint 13 years 10 months ago #16506

I bought this body from Ebay last week, It was already striped down and ready for minor body work. The thing that really sucks is that when it showed up one of the lights was broke off.

Before i started on it.

After i was done with it.

Hey, nice to find a bow-tie clod. Not too many of those around :)

Forgive me if I mislead you, but is the lightbar the same as the F350/Hilux Highlift one? (Looks remarkably similar) - might be easiest option to find one of those

These are leftovers from the Hilux Highlift. Pretty sure they're what's fitted to the F350 version too, as the Hilux version has tons of leftover bits which belong to the F350

Yes the all the Highlift lights are pre-modded ready for fitting LEDs, that includes the headlights, sidelights, front indicators, tail/reverse/brake/indicator rear clusters, the side indicator repeaters & the bullbar-mounted spots!
There's some seriously tiddly screws that hold the various lamp units together (M1.6).

It totally amazes me though, that Tamiya put so much effort into detailing the Hilux Highlift body, yet couldn't be bothered to properly bung up all the extra/spare holes in the sills (Leftover from previous Hilux versions. Tamiya supply special decals to cover them up!)
