I found this F-150 shell when a guy was using it on a TL01. It had allot of extra holes and the grill was fitted with silly putty. The front window was glued in with cyno and it had a few thick coats of black paint on it. The rear tabs for the body mount has been removed as well. I promptly gave him a new body too destroy in exchange.
Over the years I have collected every SRB part I can get my hands on, no matter what condition. I also found a very beaten F-150 chassis. The gearbox was useless as some one tried to make it direct drive by cutting away most of the casing. The radio box had cyno all over it. I also found allot of wheels over the years, so with all these parts I had the start of a F-150 runner. The body was paint stripped over several days. The body tabs at he back was a big issue as the body would just lean from side to side, so I had to make new ones. They had to be strong, so I could not just simply glue them on. First I made holes where the old tabs used to be. This allows me to see them from the top.
Next I made 2 slots for the styrene to slip into.
This way I could make the tabs strong enough and easily get the height perfect by pushing them onto the roll bar and glue them in place.
I did add some bracing to the tabs and smoothing things out. Then came filling in all those unwanted holes.
