You certainly put a lot of effort into the event this year, and had more than your fair share of problems.  80mph is a pretty impressive speed.  I wish we could put your car into a wind tunnel and see what is going on at that speed.  Seems like something is making it aerodynamically unstable.

Without the gyro, my car is also unstable.  That was the cause of my disasterous week 4 tests (6 runs/6 crashes) - I accidentally turned down the gyro sensitivity and the car was undriveable. But I don't think my problem was aerodynamics - I think my choice of rear tyre was a bad one - those narrow tyres are so flexible sideways that it allows the rear end of the car to drift, resulting in unstable oversteer at speed.

I had loads of fun this year and look forward to running again next year.

Well done Rich great effort and it was interesting to see the amount of work you put in. Gutted your 80 mph didn’t count it would have been a great finish.

It really makes you appreciate the effort it takes to obtain those kinds of speed. Well done!

9 of 33 is a nice result my friend.  Disgusted for the unvalidated 80mph . But these speed for a poor ORV wich tend to break if you see it too much.... almost like a falcon is already a record. Especially for a "cheap" cost. With it , you could run on a french highway😜

Thank you very much chaps!
Would be better if the 80mph run was approved, but at least I improved from last year

Before the winter arrives here in Norway I would do a last attempt to make a new PB with the Capri.
Winter can arrive as early as late September if unlucky...
Since the challenge is now over i can do what I please so I have now fitted a 2mm aluminium plate and are in the middle of fitting a 1.2mm stainless steel front wing.
That will never bend!
I will also make some bonnet guide plates. The real one has some that are a bit less than 2" high and the bulge on each side of bonnet on the Tamiya body mimics those. I want to make real ones to guide the air.
I might also fit batwings at the rear.

Nice! And with this front wing keep it for the winter to remove the snow around the s40. I hope you will explode your record🤞
