Thanks buddy, I'd love to have a go with it 'cause it should run very nicely but I'll leave it pristine.
The carbon decal bits on the nose are mostly functional (so not to damage the body) but they fit the scheme alright I think.

I'll be finishing the FRP version - that hasn't driven the tiniest bit so far either...
Should be awesome to run that one.

:)

I must just say, remember the Manta Ray I built for my nephew. I built it with a Tamiya Sport Tune (black can) motor, and that thing is a blast to drive. My nephew is the local hero with his friends. I would love to get another one.

They're great cars to build - that's why the topic got so long.
And they can handle quite some power too, if you take the right precautions.
Let's see if the FRP car will go 100 km/h.

I hate this thread, everytime I read it I get the urge to snoop on the bay and other online fleas, hunting for the big fish,

And yes i caught another one, and this one got to be fast it has the speedgears and a 21 steel pinion (but me think its not metric .6).
So lets see if it realy can do 100+ (without the FastResinPack) ;)

Nice lot. Contagious stuff indeed. :side:
I haven't really had enough of the chassis either... a TA01 drifter (I think a Lancia Integrale) would be awesome too.
Or the coolest TA02 of all - the Taisan Porsche.

Thanks to the index I made I could find the calculations I once did.
A motor that does 40.000 real rpm and a combo of a 25T pinion with 66T spur should make it go 115 km/h.
Robinson go up to 24 and I only got a 23T (steel) pinion myself so it'll be a bit of a stretch...
But not impossible! With 2.8" tyres at least.

And keep our fingers crossed that won't be the last ride...

Not much of an onroad car guy.

Now the question, were will the smoke come from?

a- burning rubber
b- evaporating grease
c- msc
d- stickpack

ps RW racing does 0.6 Module 10 - 30 Teeth ;)

Maybe several simultaneously.
In my case probably the ball diffs if I start out trying for a speed record.

I'll go off road with the chassis your Humvee shell will go on.
Start out with a 19T Robinson and a normal spur.
Good tip about the pinions - gonna look them up. :y:
