Been very busy on this the chassis is practically rebuilt now. I have decided to keep it as original as possible mainly down to cost more than anything as im on a very limited budget so i have just cleaned and rebuilt everything using the manual so it is bog standard including the old msc. I am in the process of manufacturing a metal front shock tower as i have removed the two weak and damaged plastic arms from the front bulkhead. I am planning on remounting the manufactured part by drilling the front bulkhead as it is very strong and gives plenty of opportunity for remounting luckily.
I am about to rebuild the rear shock and arm assembly but have come across a small crack in one of the rear arms where i think someone has overtightened the mounting screw. The crack is only on the outer edge of the mounting point not right through see pics. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for dealing with it without sourcing the r parts tree for it? would plastic welding be effective as i have the front arms that i cut off that could be used to fill the gap if i melted them down? Any suggestions |
