Just bought this on eBay, body is a little beaten up (but nothing that stripping the orange paint off & a bit of filling won't fix), chassis looks to be sound, wheels & tyres are good ... I'm dubious about the foam motor covers, they're fine in theory for slow running in dusty conditions, but compromise cooling and if they're left on wet ... we'll see what lies underneath later.
Note that this has the "early" bowtie grill & Chevrolet tailgate ... apparently this is desireable, but TBH I don't think I've seen a genuine Clod that doesn't have this - I suspect the "rare" variety is the anonymised one |

I've been planning to do one of these for some time - I already have most of a set of genuine decals + a set of turned alloy wheels:
Storage space is becoming a bit of a problem chez moi, I can't really justify having more than more proper monster, so the Super Clod will have to go. Strange thing, I'm sure the last couple of times I used it was in snow, but the chassis is filthy - and it's gained a lot of dust since then too - I'll have to give it a proper strip down & thorough clean before selling ... I guess I'll have to do that first |

Thanks I think the only bits I'm likely to need (although that may change, once I strip the orange Clod down) are the bits that always break & go walkabout - the roof lights & related bits TBH the blue Clod will probably have to live without them, but the old one will probably get a bunch of re-re parts from Seidel |

Yes seidel are ace i took your advice and ordered a super clodbuster kit from them arrived in three days and was under £240 which was a massive saving on UK prices so i ordered a bullhead kit too as the saving was massive on them too have both ready to be built soon. currently restoring my re re hotshot which has been fun up to now as i have a lot of spares already in my tool box for it. I might be interested in your super clod for a runner if you sell it Jon let me have a price. I m sure i have a bag in the attic full of trim parts bumpers arms etc if you need anything.

Picked this one up from Germany recently Jon completely unused original and not built badly but the paint job is not up to your standards but it has original decals so i dont really want to re do it. i stripped and ballraced it and rebuilt it again to make sure it was all ok
That makes my count three clods and two bullheads to date i must be crazy but they are one of my favourites i seem to be amassing a number of hotshot's too i have three now and one unbuilt kit one. My collection has shrunk a little but im building it back up by duplicating models I did replace the motors on the clod as they had rusted a little and ruined the look of it. Only negative is one wheel has yellowed quite badly due to sun exposure i think. |

The Chevy logo on the front grill is on all clod buster. The 4X4X4 was puted on with the super CB. Like all sponsors decals. Tamiya want not pay more for these. They "lost" the licences. Like on the harley davidsons scales. Tamiya changed the name.
