Tamiya Egress 2013 motor selection 12 years 3 months ago #30124

Hi Everyone,

I just bought my 2013 Tamiya Egress and now am searching for some advice on fitting a motor to my car.

I would like to use the stock pinion gear (22T) and keep the stock gear ratio (8.25:1).

Do you guys have some advice on what brushless motor combo will be suitable for this vintage car please? I don't do racing and it is more for occasional off road play.

My preferred brand includes: Tamiya, Speed Passion or other similar quality brands.

Thanks for all your help in advance.

Thanks for your reply, stingray-63.

A quick question, would Tamiya Brushless Motor 01 - 10.5T/Brushless ESC01 combo be suitable for Egress please? From the specs, the Tamiya 10.5T brushless motor has a low kv (3050 kv).

I think it's more the punch of a brushless setup than the max rpm that creates the vulnerability...
Personally I'd go for a 17.5T Speed Passion, seems a bit more suited for the car in general.
