So this little cutie crossed my way a couple of days ago.

Shell isnt much but in one piece, chassis is in near mint condition accept for the reargearbox cover (haleluja Egress rere )

Here are some appetizers till I can commence with the teardown.

Great find!
I love those "complete" finds where you get hold of everything as they were just after final assembly. All the bits and bons, leftovers and tags. They just make a good story.

And that chassis looks unused!

Yep maybe did two accupacks, most.
Only damage I could discover sofar was the rear gearbox lid, but thats available thx to recent rere's.

And the body is quite flimsy, its very thin lexan, so either a bad repro or the original.

Hope you got some Hi-caps left (I estimate a high probability).

It's a compétition chassis the body are very thin like the avante. Lightweight bodyshell

Can't argue with that.

Rebuilded the Vanquish (forgot to take pictures of most of the steps )

Only modifications it currently has are full Ballbearing (replaced the hollow 3mm axle in the reargerbox for a solid , as it was squashed) and I made some parts on my lathe and swapped the steering arms for the Egress setup.

Replaced the top and lower lid of the rear gearbox (was cracked) and had to source some screws as on some spots the wrong ones were used. Otherwise an interresting build had to keep an eye on the manual more than ones.

Way less sloppy, will do this on my monster Hilux too.


Will keep it in this state, adding HiCaps etc. will just make it a non Avante/Egress.
Like the original look.
