They look really nice, Bram!
I prefer the 58010 version because of the rubber tires which makes it look more scale. Judging by the pictures, you have done an excellent job on the white decals, especially the front one, on the cockpit is a nightmare to align... Well done! Hi Bram,
Are any of your Ligiers painted? I ask because I did mine unpainted , and I'm not sure how it would look if painted. Signature now gets correct formatting if you edit it in your Profile. Use normal BBcode if you want.

Good evening Lars,
Normally i always paint all my tamiya bodies. For these 2 i made an exception because the colour is just perfect for the Ligiers. I tried painting a Ligier body long ago, (now sold) which came out just fine but not quit this colour of the non painted ones! Cheers, Bram Restoring Countach 58005

Bram,
I would like to add pictures of this 58010 to the Model Database. If that's ok with you, can you send me the above pictures on email, and if possible please include pictures of the chassis? Signature now gets correct formatting if you edit it in your Profile. Use normal BBcode if you want.

The finished cars look very nice, but I'm more than a bit skeptical about this ... since not painting my first RC car (a Grasshopper shortly after they came out) & regretting it very quickly, I've painted every RC car / plastic kit, even if the plastic was moulded the correct colour, and painting over it resulted in a colour indistinguishable from a distance, because to me anything left in bare plastic just looks wrong. It's a subtle thing, and not about the shade, but something about the way the light falls on it vs. paint - plastic tends to be semi translucent so the look changes depending on the thickness of the moulding, and the colour also changes where it's a colour anything other than white, due to incomplete mixing where different colours of plastic beads are blended to get a particular shade. The colour here looks to be a basic French blue, so I'm not clear on why that would be difficult to match - Tamiya TS-10 French Blue & Humbrol # 14 French Blue come to mind immediately |
