What's the plan with this one then? If that was mine I'd want to do something a bit more out there than the obvious post apocalypse theme, maybe a sleek, white civilianised version - think Caterham Seven with cycle fenders meets James Bond's Lotus Esprit

Fast Accidented Vehicle I love this chassis. Very fun but need oil shocks because the springs are too soft |

Not sure yet. Yes, I'd like something different, so if nothing else, it will not be box art. Oil shocks are on the shopping list. I'm guessing for the front I would need Wild One mountings or to fabricate something Other bits I need so far: - rear suspension bracket thingys - front body/radio cover (either FAV or W1) (or make one - servo saver and mounts - diff outdrives (same as a Frog/Brat??? If so I think I have some) - arms for the driver (I may have some Wild Willy arms kicking about) Can anyone help? The gearbox has gears in it, but I haven't looked to see what state they are in yet. I also have driveshafts, suspensions arms and the other bits shown in the first pic. Motor pinion: The standard ally one is apparently rubbish - where can I find a better one? Servo mounts: These are very simple items - a block about 5x5x25mm with three holes. I need something similar for several projects. I can't help thinking there must be something generic available for pennies rather than gold-plated Tamiya parts. Any ideas?? |

Wow looking forward to seeing new life breathed into this rebuilders delight
If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem mate

A "rebuilders delight" Thanks Flo. My casing is OK (normal scratches on the bottom) and I think the gears are the same as the Frog (can anyone confirm?). If I need some I'll let you know. Don't hold your collective breaths about this one - I have plenty of other projects to be getting on with. |

Can't help you with bits, but remember all the FAV/Wild One parts are easily available if you don't mind re-re bits
tamiyabase.com/...mitstart=0 - 2nd post by Edou - 15T or 18T 0.8mod, (so 32dp will do in a pinch), just remember you want one with a 3.2mm bore, not 5mm.
I've successfully made my own in the past from 1/4" (6.35mm) square aluminium bar, and less sucessfully from 3/16" (I think) - but sawing it up, filing, drilling, tapping then sanding/polishing to remove the toolmarks is not a quick process, so I've never got around to making bulk spares in that material ... nylon would be an obvious choice, but I've yet to find it in a suitably sized square bar. I know Plastruct make a 6.4mm solid square bar in nylon & I would have thought it would work - and would certainly be quicker (no need to tap the holes for a start). |

Don't worry too much. It was more of a general question. I am surprised that I can't find mass produced nylon versions of JRs suggestion anywhere. I reckon I need about 5 sets for various projects. The only place I found something is Mardave but they seem a little pricey for what they are. TIC racing is a bit better at £4.99 for 3 pairs |
