Inspired by Andyaus and
my last two Hotshot restorations
, I decided to dig out my Boomerang and start the restoration.
The boomer has been lying around in my cave for at least 6 years, so it was time to get it done. This restoration thread will be "live", meaning what I do one day will be online the next, revealing my current slow pace in restorations. I have currently torn it down and cleaned the parts. This was the starting point: It's well used and missing a few parts. As usual, I will spend some cash on plastic parts and wheels to get most of it "as new". I have already ordered a re-re bodyset. I'm not sure if I will use it though. The rest of the parts will be vintage. Signature now gets correct formatting if you edit it in your Profile. Use normal BBcode if you want.

The base is still in very nice state. The original body keeps the boomer a pretty charme. Why not just clean it up and refresh it? |

I will give the old body a go and see if the paint comes off. Signature now gets correct formatting if you edit it in your Profile. Use normal BBcode if you want.

idiot question, isn't the boomer very similar to the shotshot? |

It's in the same family, yes, sharing gearboxes and suspension arms. (and wheels) The main difference is the chassis tub which is way more practical than the "shots" and the missing roll cages. -Lars Signature now gets correct formatting if you edit it in your Profile.
