So I picked this up a few weeks ago, I took it apart and inspected it and cleaned parts as I took them off. Re greased the gearbox, found the ball joints in the front arms very loose, the little disc inside was worn, I ordered another set of NOS arms off ebay, as well as an old Parma hop up, new rear wheel adapters, and Novafox rear arms. So far only the front arm set has shown up in the mail. Im still waiting on everything else, I also have an ESC on the way. All original parts I take off will be set aside and kept should I decide to go full shelf queen, but Id like to run this every now and then and not worry about breaking stuff. Heres the front end together again
Also when I found it the poor driver had an orange floor, yellow suit, with green seatbelts and blue hands. And he didnt even have a head. I painted the base black with a blue suit, and my girlfriend who built a grasshopper recently gave me the head from the driver in her kit. But the grasshopper attached the driver through a screw in his head, so I filled that in first
After some filing and some paint I had this. I need more tan paint though
Ill update as parts arrive, cheers!

So I got more things in the mail! First thing is the period correct CRP front arm stabilizer. I almost felt bad opening the package.
Second was a box of parts from a fellow on another forum. It had an old futaba receiver and servo, an ESC that doesnt look too old but I cant identify it. And probably the coolest thing is an old Tekin 120 ESC. It was still in the plastic case with the manual too
Heres the other ESC I cant identify
So heres a question, is the red Tekin something you would run in an old Fox, or something to put on the shelf and keep nice? I think it would be cool to have in the Fox... |
