I know it is just stripping servo motor and wiring a led in place, but my very old acoms derelict has 3 wires on the motor, two red ones and between them a black one welded on the outer motor shell, what should I pick?, oh, also, acoms have same wiring as futabas? because I need to weld a new connector (Black - red + and white = signal?)

on that, not interested I prefer on know how to use the power to the servo motor to power directly the LED's

You can always try directly in parallel of the servo with a small resistor.

Try +=> - +=>s -=>s
A led doesn't consum a lot of current. For which function do you want use leds? If you want to use for turning lights, Poebe solution is the best and the easiest. If you want to light front and rear lights, switch leds (with resistors) directly on the motor wires (I made that on my tamtech gear 934) and for the brake and rear lights idem but the + on the - and - on the + . |

The three wires that go onto the server are +/- power and a signal line. So you need to harness that signal line to be able to turn the LEDs on and off and that will mean an IC chip. Servos have an IC chip inside that does this any people use this chip to control other things. But that means destroying the servo. There are also several simple circuit diagrams I've found on the net that you can make and then you don't need to use a servo. This is similar to one I built years ago (I can't find the link to the actual one I built, but it might give you ideas for searching). www.lamja.com/?p=306 and I used this to control not only a servo for the pop-up headlights in a Pantera body, but turning on the lights as they come up as well. See movie here -> www.tamiyaclub....W2H3DN.m4v although this version doesn't have the lights installed. EDIT - I managed to find the link to the circuit I used. -> www.laureanno.c...tekmod.htm |

decided to do what poebe commented, but using a Tamiya MSC instead of the switch so I can build a lot of light effects using one servo (2 and 2=4 in total? I know Tamiya MSC's have two speed forward plus two reverse.) Obviously servo would need to be commanded by an analogue input (luckily my transmitter has two analogue channels besides the 4 on the sticks)

at least you can use my idea for direction indicators in combination whit the steering servo.
if you want switchable head and tail lights you can prepair a servo cirquit board. just because i want lights on my yota i am interrested. there are many instruction vids on youtube |
