Hi so after the build and painting it NOT THE original yellow (i know sacrilege) but i wanted it Audi red so however never mind that lol.
the small springs that you attach to the body where the rear axle fits in either side of the casings, i think i have done this wrong as the rear axle moves from the bottom to these springs with no resistance like its loose if you have it in hand it moves up and down travelling maybe 10-20 mm and this does not seem right to me so can someone tell me what i have seem to have done wrong here or what? first one just to show it finished lol

In my mind, your springs aren't in the good side. But I have several CW01 and these springs aren't necessary. My runner lost them a lot of years ago. My first 87' lunchbox has no more springs and it runs, jumps and wheeles perfectly without any broken spares. |

The secondary screw is just there to hold the spring in place while the axle/gearbox is fitted & is supposed to come out on the next step (or they bend as in your pic)... however it hardly matters as those springs (even when straight) are completely inneffective as soon as you apply any throttle - a standard mod on that chassis is a "5th shock" (e.g. near the bottom of

Thanks for the reply guys as usual!
dam i must have missed the part where that secondary screw was supposed to have come back out, which certainly makes sense and the spring would sit down on to axle then, so my options are either get a new set of un bent springs and ro do them either side with the second screw gone. OR is there any mods or upgrades to get around this so this free travel is not there etc? |
