Company that can make Perfect Replica For Rare Clarion Nismo GTR LM 1/10 Body 7 months 3 weeks ago #81898

I have the Untrimmed NISMO Clarion GT-R LM 1/10 (Item 58165) body only. I’m looking for a company that can make a perfect replica of the body. Unfortunately, I ask Team Bluegroove if they can, which they can but they have to make some changes to the rear, which is not what I want for a very rare body. If anyone knows of a company that can make a perfect replica body for the GT-R, please let me know. Thanks!

Penguin?

Although "perfect" would be a stretch, I've had several Frog bodies from them & the first one was very basic - but they have improved.

That undercut on the back is going to a problem for any small volume producer, who realistically can only make/use one piece bucks - you need Tamiya money to have multipiece bucks (the extra diagonal lines on the front fenders in your photos are artefacts from a two piece buck).

I don't know of a particular company, but you just need someone who has a vac former (and preferably a drying cabinet if you want to vac form PC) and can cast urethane. Hmm, maybe look up prop makers. If you want to go down the do-it-yourself path, I can give you some advice on replicating it yourself and home vac forming in one piece if you want, and even tips on building a home made vac former. I'd say it's do-able for the average person, but you will have a bit of trial and error and you will spend easily several hundred dollars doing it. I have a vac forming thread here  - www.tamiyabase....s?start=60 (and a slightly more updated one on TamiyaClub, I should update this thread on here, as I have progressed a lot more)

To make it with one buck, you use a hard, yet still flexible and thinnish ( maybe 5 mm) poly urethane outer mold with a 3D printed sub frame. The idea being that the you pull out the sub frame and the urethane is flexible enough that you can pull it out of the under cuts, but strong enough that it doesn't squish when vac forming. I have had success doing this copying a Mk 1 Golf body, a hotshot shell and some other bodies, but it's not a cheap option.

I've since got rid of the webbing, just don't have any pics
