And now the big one. I wanted to add some factory/industrial looking led light to the walls. I've been looking around for ages trying to find the right shape light unit. Then, the other day I found these bicycle bells. Perfect.

And lastly, the beginning of the electrical wiring install.

Although I always 'tinker' with stuff, it's been a little while since I built anything new for my scale garage. Here's a few little things that I've been working on over the past few weeks.

First up, I didn't like the black 'parts cart' I had so I stripped it an repainted it red. Not much, but I do prefer it now.

Next up, some food! I spotted this from Plaza Japan a while ago. I've never built a plastic model kit before so kept putting it off after looking at all the trees of tiny parts. However, I plucked up the courage last week to make a start. It's a 1:12th scale noodle vending machine. I just liked the look of it, and the scale seemed to fit. Not sure whether I'll leave it looking new or weather it. I'll see what it looks like in some future pics.

The main body was fairly simple to assemble once all the parts were removed from the trees.

Although the plastic is moulded in a nice cream colour, I primered the pieces and painted them in Tamiya TS-7 Off White.

This is the part I wasn't looking forward to. Painting all the aluminium trim. I had thought about just brush painting them 'free hand', but then I remembered that I always get impatient with painting and regret it afterwards. So, I chose to do the right thing and mask it all up. Took ages, but I'm so glad I did it. It's Tamiya TS-17 Aluminium Silver.

And, the decals and trim pieces added. Doesn't look much, but it was two hours work!

Here's the final result. Not sure if this will be it's permanent home... we'll see.

Last project for now was to build a rack for my M-chassis rims. I have a few of them lying around from my M-07, that will now go to my XM-01 build. (which will be coming shortly).

42 pieces of 6mm square pine strips and 6 longer pieces for the lengths. A long job cutting them by hand.

I then made a simple wooden jig to ensure each of the three rack lengths were exactly the same.

Result!

All glued together.

Couple of coats of primer and then satin black. Just need to load on all the rims.

The last job for now was to make a metal working bench to replace the wooden bench that was there before. I forgot to take pics of this as I went along, but it's all made from styrene.

Thanks for popping in and taking a look. This will be an on going project and I'll update any new stuff as I go along.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem mate :)

Thank you. The lights were really an after thought, but turned out good. I will have to check out your garage. They are fun to build aren't they.?

I've not updated this thread for a while. I spotted this A-board on Blockhead Motors facebook page and thought I'd try to make my own version. I started with this photo and had to cut out the bike handlebars.  Next I printed out the two photos needed, to the correct size, on some 4”x6” photo paper.  And stuck them to some balsa sheet.  Then cut them out.  And here we are: I added some straps using some strips of black heatshrink and some M0.8mm screws. Now it can have a permanent home in the scale garage.
