I was ho-in to say ‘hello’. I’ve had a Tamiyaclub account since 2006, and have experience’(very out of date) with Tamiya RC (we are talking original Hornet and Porsche 959!
I went through a period if obsessively collecting vintage (first 100 Tamiya unbuilt kits), then they got too expensive, and so I moved on again to Lego! The reason for my suddenly return to RC is that I’ve got a problem insofar as the fact I’ve sadly inherited a load of RC gear, all new from what I can see. I get that this sounds like a scam, but I can’t assure you that it isn’t. I’ll work with whatever security requirements you might have (including pick up of the kit from my home (if practical)/send you a photo of my ID beside my face etc… I’ve got a load of different bits. I’ll post some pictures. |

Hello and welcome.
We do like pictures! And I`m one of the Lego guys on here. Also have a Tamiyaclub account from same time, but my old email got hacked and since then I have never been able to retrive my old account on there. |

Welcome back to RC.
Original Hornet and Porsche 959 is a pretty good way to have started! I think a lot of us drift in and out of the hobby depending on life, prices, space, and whatever else grabs our attention for a while. Sorry to hear about the circumstances that brought the gear your way, but you’re doing the right thing by being upfront and offering whatever reassurance people need. Sadly there are enough scams around now that everyone has to be a bit careful, but clear photos, honest descriptions, and being willing to work with sensible buyer checks goes a long way. I’d definitely post photos and, if possible, any box/manual/part numbers you can find. Tamiya people are usually very good at identifying kits and spotting what belongs with what. Looking forward to seeing what you’ve got. |
