Look what the Mail man brought me ! 1 year 11 months ago #79499

This easy project arrived. Looks to have been mostly built and then just sat on a shelf to collect dust for years. Sadly no box, manual or sticker sheet was included, but I did factor that into the negotiation. I think I'll order a new body set and MCI stickers, and keep hope alive that I'll come across a legit White Version sticker sheet one day.

Ohhh yes ! Slipper sorry.... 😂🤯.  It looks to have a removable cup to trim it on the main gear. I love the white plastic in the asso and traxxas early 80's style. Another congrat for this one. I remember that some ta02 white parts was offered for winners during tamiya cup and were in very limited edition.

^ Thanks! This is the 84400 Dark Impact (white version) DF-03. I ordered a new body and will order the white version stickers from MCI (should see a Black Friday sale soon). I also ordered an option pack of DF-03 clear blue gear cover parts for a little accent, and another pack of DF-03 aluminum dampers

I don't usually buy brand new kits I've always been more of a restorer of my youth, so the early models, I think anything in the first 50 where my golden years. But that can prove a time consuming effort and having seen so many really good builds I have recently been buying some NIB kits, The Alfa Giulia, Fiat 600, the 131, I've had a Lancia 037 NIB squirrelled away for a few years now, knowing that when I come to build them I'll have all the parts there. I've even bought cockpit sets for each one to finish them off.
So that said I treated myself to the Porsche 956 and thanks to a comment and the link from Todd I picked up the a repro cockpit set. I don't feel a model is quite right without a driver figure. I think like Todd I'll look to get the correct graphics for the car, I've never smoked, but I feel like it needs the Rothmans livery.
Having upped the scale to 1-10th this is not a small thing. The body shell is the entire length off the box.

The 956 will not disappoint and be plenty time consuming for you! It took me a solid 4 days of PTO to carefully paint and then finish it with two pages of stickers.

FYI - MCI now has the new 956 stickers modified with Rothmans, but a bit short sighted to not include Shell or Dunlop. It's also very expensive, and I think he'd do better to offer an addendum kit with just the sponsors. Therefore, I'm glad I went with the scaled up original stickers from 58042. Whatever you decide, there's sure to be a BF sale with them this weekend. Link: mciracing.ca/pr...oth-decals

Finally the Kaido House 1:64 Silverado Clod arrived in my mailbox today. I preordered this in late September on ebay.
Since I love Clods, I had to have it!!
